Source and coverage
Read the complete original German articles from the digitized Sanskrit dictionary of 1887. Meanings, references and cross-references appear in their historical wording and link to scans of the printed pages.
You can find the headwords in a consistent Sanskrit spelling. Word types follow the information in the original. This German edition is a separate dictionary alongside Cappeller’s English edition of 1891.
Edition: Carl Cappeller: Sanskrit-Wörterbuch nach den Petersburger Wörterbüchern bearbeitet. Strassburg: Karl J. Trübner, 1887.
Digitization and scans: Cologne Digital Sanskrit Dictionaries. The original pages come from AYI’s existing copy of the same edition.
Transcription: © 2014 The Sanskrit Library and Thomas Malten. Edited by Jim Funderburk and Thomas Malten; series editor Peter M. Scharf.
